KCRW Podcasts feature the savviest and sassiest voices in broadcasting and journalism. From the Pulitzer Prize winning critic for film criticism to weekly political analysis by four plugged-in pundits on Left, Right & Center. From 2005 LA Press Club entertainment reporting winner The Business to weekly in-depth interviews with popular culture creators on The Treatment, hosted by former NY Times film critic Elvis Mitchell. And Harry Shearer – who voices dozens of characters on “The Simpsons” – brings his rapier wit to his weekly satirical skewering of all things political and media on Le Show.

How do you get started?
The basic requirements for podcasting are a computer, podcasting software (see above) and an Internet connection (the higher the speed, the better). To take your podcast with you, an iPod or any MP3 player is also needed.

To begin, download and install podcasting software onto your computer (PC or Mac). Though every application is different, there are generally directions to "add" or "subscribe to" a podcast feed (usually just as simple as copying and pasting the podcast URL, found in the icon, from the list above into your podcasting application). In iTunes, version 4.9 and higher, the process for subscribing to podcasts and even downloading single podcast files is greatly simplified. Here is a link to KCRW's iTunes Podcast page.

Once subscribed to a podcast, the next time you "Check for New Podcasts", an MP3 of your selected KCRW program will be on your computer, and if you're set up for it, on your iPod as well.

You can download KCRW's very own "Pubcatcher" which gives you one-click subscription to any of our podcasts and comes with a directory of other public radio podcasts.
