It's a non-profit cultural organization promoting Yiddish language and culture in Southern California, featuring a Yiddishkayt Festival and other ongoing events throughout the year. 2.\tFor a quick immersion, the 3rd annual ART OF YIDDISH WEEK takes place at UCLA's Royce Hall, Sunday Dec. 14 through Friday, Dec. 20. You can pay a single price for the full week's activities or purchase seats for individual theatre, film, lecture, music and dance events, as well as language classics and an all-day Yiddish cultural experience. 3. The WORKMEN'S CIRCLE/ARBETER RING is the chief - the preeminent - advocate of Yiddish cultural activity. Founded in 1900, it provides ongoing language classes, cultural events, programming as well as benefits and services to the Jewish Community, and fosters a progressive liberal agenda. Upcoming events include a 'Slam Shirim': A Poetry Slam for the Jewish Community on Dec. 14th at 8 pm; an ongoing art exhibit on the theme of Globalization in its A Shenere Velt Gallery through Jan. 3; and ongoing Yiddish classes.
