NPR News Programs     Tapes and transcripts for all NPR programs (Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, Weekend All Things Considered Day to Day) are available by calling 877-NPR-TEXT.

KCRW Music Programs
We do NOT sell tapes or transcripts of KCRW music programs. Playlists are available online at www.kcrw.org/music/playlists.html. However, we do produce the Rare on Air and Morning Becomes Eclectic series of CDs.

Each Rare on Air and MBE release features a collection of tracks culled from the many performances on KCRW's renowned music program, Morning Becomes Eclectic. All royalties are donated by the artists to support KCRW. Currently we offer Rare on Air Volumes 1, 2, 3 and 4.

You can buy Rare On Air and MBE from KCRW, at retail outlets worldwide, as well as on the web at www.Amazon.com.

Other KCRW Programs

We sell cassettes and CD's (but NOT transcripts) of To The Point, Which Way, L.A.?, Politics of Culture, The Treatment, Left, Right & Center, The Business, DnA and Bookworm. Each tape is $15.

membership information
    KCRW is listener supported public radio. We rely on individual contributions for about 70% of our operating budget. We cannot exist without that support.

A KCRW subscription is one of the best deals in town. It entitles you to discounts and benefits at restaurants, clothing stores, record retailers and specialty stores throughout Southern California, as well as the opportunity to win tickets to music, theater, movies and more up to four times a year.

A basic subscription is $25 a year. To receive the Fringe Benefits Discount Card, pledge $50 or more. A $100 contribution entitles members to attend our monthly movie screenings. Visit our Subscribe Online pages for more details.

    KCRW's General Manager and Program Director is Ruth Seymour. All (non-musical) program submissions should be directed to her attention. All proposals submitted for on-air consideration should include an audio demo, as well as a one page synopsis of your idea.

    All music is considered for on-air play; we listen to EVERYTHING that comes in the door. Really. Our music programming is widely eclectic, including World, Electronic, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Folk and Hip Hop and more. We accept music in most formats including DAT, vinyl, and cassette, but prefer CD. Please send submissions to:

Tracking (Following up): To follow up on music you have sent to the station (i.e. to see if we have added your CD to our library), call KCRW Head Music Librarian Eric J. Lawrence on Wednesdays ONLY, between noon and 3pm Pacific Time at (310) 314-4640. We will accept tracking calls ONLY at this time. Please be patient. We do get a flood of calls, and will take them in the order received. If you have difficulty calling at this time, you can email the KCRW Music Department at Music@KCRW.org. We'll try to get back to you promptly, but it is better to call during the tracking-call hours.

what is The Guide?
    The Guide is KCRW's monthly newsletter and comprehensive program guide. Every month, our music programers recommend ten albums. 10 x 5 lists where members can purchase these albums with their fringe benefits card. We also provide a program guide which provides a schedule for all programs that you can hear on KCRW.

We also feature program notes for Bookworm, and "Notes from the Underground" lets you know what is going on with the staff and volunteers at KCRW. We provide an ongoing as well as modified list of our fringe benefits to our members. Also listed is where you can listen to KCRW throughout southern California. Finally, we provide you with telephone numbers for Ticket Giveaways, the Business Office, Membership Questions, amd Email addresses.
